    BIOS Corrupted?

Does no beeping at startup always mean the Bios is gone? I have power to the board, the fans move,etc..but no video and no beep. I have an NF7-S and I hear they're notorious for flakey Bios but I don't believe I did anything that would trash it.
I am suspecting my video card might have bit it. I don't have another that will fit to try out but I tried it in another machine and it didn't respond. I might have needed to fuss with it more in the other machine to make sure, but I was frustrated and didn't.
Whats confusing me is the lack of a beep. I think a board will beep with a bad video card to let you know the Bios can't communicate with it..am I correct?
So I don't know whether to overnight a new Bios chip or run out and buy a video card, or both.

I bought a NF7 Ver.1.2 non S and when I installed it and just set changes in bio`s and clicked on the save and exit the bio`s were shot, there was no post screen or nothing. There is suppose to be a jumper on the newer MB`s that is suppose to help you get bio`s back up but I have read it don`t work all the time and I don`t know where it is located. Edit: I missed that part about trying the video card in another computer, I guess if you went and bought a new video card and if it works or don`t work it will eliminate one or the other.

I've cleared the CMOS jumper several times. Even took the battery out to make sure. I can't believe I can't come up with another card to try. This comp. has an AGP that doesn't have the notches in the right place.
The NF7-S has a big red screen that pops up shouting "Don't turn off computer while saving to BIOS!" I figured this was how everyone was corrupting their Bios. I did flash the Bios a week ago but all went well and I used it for three days with no problems until I decided to take the rig apart again and set a few things in order.

I don`t see how you could have messed up your bio`s, by opening up your computer and arranging things. Did you check to see if the cables are on right and not loose, I have a bad habit of putting a new componet in and brushing up against another cable and disconnecting or loosing it where it is not getting a good connection. By the way what kind of video card is it.

When I start putting things together a loose cable could definitely be a possibility. Especially as cramped as my case is. Everything seems to be running though; all the fans, motherboard lights, cds and floppies.
The card is an old Voodoo 4500. I was saving its upgrade for last until I could decide exactly what I wanted in a video card.
If the fan runs on the card would that indicate the card is okay or could it still be shot?

I`m not sure and I could be wrong but I don`t think that video card is compatable with that MB. That may be why you think the agp slots don`t match up.

No, if its still alive its compatible. I was using it before on this board. The fan is spinning on it okay. Just bugs me that I can't get a beep. If i could get a beep I would know to chase down problems with the components instead of fretting over it being the bios.

Well, if the Monitor is ok, then we are right back to bio`s or video card and since the video card did not work in the other computer I would sorta lean in that direction. Sorry, I could not be more help, post back which one is at fault.

I've about decided its the card also (if not both). I appreciate you helping me brainstorm.
