    Hard Locking Issues

So far, I've clocked my XP2100+ to 2.35GHz (don't want to try any higher because my temps are getting close to 50 C). Anyway, it seems like the computer just doesn't want to actually boot at 2.35GHz but it runs perfectly stable in Windows. Weird.

    Here the details:

When I cold boot my machine @ 2.35GHz, it will not POST. If I boot the machine at 2.25GHz, it runs fine and I can even go back to the BIOS and change it back to 2.35GHz and it will run fine after that. 2.35GHz is perfectly stable after running many 3DMark loops and several hours of testing with 3D games. I think it may be a BIOS issue, since I am using a fairly old Epox 8RDA BIOS (12/16/2002 I believe). I do remember a similar problem with the Epox 8KHA+, maybe this is the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas? Outside of it being a BIOS issue, I don't know what's up.

it's a bios issue. It has been fixed a while ago. I suggest you go and grab this bios:

Thanks . I plan to get some better aircooling before I'll overclock anymore. I'm running at 1.90 Volts. It might work at 1.8775, but I haven't tried.

Thanks a ton . It's not as easy as finding information on the 8RDA as the 8RDA+ (since they don't share the same BIOS file AFAIK).

Is the latest official 8RDA BIOS the best performing and/or have the best overclockability?
