    About This Mac by Aqua-Soft

Apologies in advance, mods, if you deem it necessary to lock this thread (although the program in question was freeware prior to being axed by Apple)...

Do any of you have an application called About This Mac by Aqua-Soft? The program seems to have been removed from every mirror online, and I stupidly didn't back it up prior to a hard drive format. I still have the executable, but I'm missing all of the included .OCX files so it's useless.

I vaguely recall a theme by that name, so if indeed you are referring to the infamous Windows theme that garnered Steve Job's attention, then I can't help you I was merely curious to know what you meant.

However, I do have some OSX-like themes I can send you.

It's actually not a theme, but just an application that clones the MacOS version of About This Mac. Was a really nice addition to desktop screenshots.

Actually, I found a picture from several months ago:

That's pretty nice, I have seen it before but couldn't tell you where to get it. If you're technical inclined, try this:

I just came across this site which seems to have it. Go check it out and ask in the forums if a direct link isn't available. Seems like a cool OSX clone forum/community.

Wow, that's very clean. I bookmarked the page. Can't do it now as I don't have a good backup of my OS drive...

How'd you get the icons up to such a huge size, though? I love the look of that. Is it one of the system file replacements?

    Right here:

It's a cool patch, just doesn't look good at all on my monitor. A couple of icons, and I have no workspace left.

I thought it was for the About This Mac thing.

48x48 is plenty big and anything bigger is just insanity.

btw, checked out your mp3.com page, you have a nice melody going.

    Thanks for listening!

Yeah, About The Mac might be a lost cause. The thing about joining one of those forums is, they're not going to send you the file if you just walk in and ask for it, and I'm not obsessive enough to actually join a forum and do nothing but talk about making my Windows desktop look like a Mac. ;-)

You don't like those great big icons, though? I kinda dig 'em.
