    Post Is Gateway good?

    Hey people,
I am interested in buying a Gateway Performance Select 1200 or Performance 1500. Do you guys think these are good systems? I DO NOT want to build my own!

If you are not gonna build your system I would go with Dell if you want to save money or Alienware if full performance is your fortay along with a fat pocket book.

Agreed. Dell is the way to go, hands down. Gateway was my first purchase, and I was happy with the PC, not the support that you pay so much extra for. They just layed off almost 25% of their workfore, so service isn't gonna get any better. Just some things to consider. If you have the $$, go with alienware as GHz said. www.alienware.com

hmmm... looks like you'll have to change your name if you get a Dell or an Alienware.

    Hehe... yeah he would.

To second the opinion here, I would also get a Dell if you don't want to build your own. I used to be a macintosh-only person until last October, and decided that I wanted a PC. Not knowing about sharkyextreme.com or anything, I decided to buy a pre-built system. I got a Dell 4100 series, and let me tell you it's rock solid. Got it with win2k, and some goodies. Of course you can't overclock anything, but it was cheap and is stable, so I'm happy for now. My next system will definitely be built by yours truly. I still don't know if I'd go with Intel or AMD on my next, it will depend on the next gen AMD stuff, and also how well the P4 turns out. We'll see in a couple months...
