Step into my office...
Literally, I cleaned it up today even though I desperatly wanted to hook up the new computer, I promised myself I'd do this. I'll take you on a little picture tour, so come along. Mi casa es su casa.
Here is what you first see when you walk in, Dual 19" side by side with a 20" TV to the right of that. Right now one 19" is hooked to one computer, one to the other. But once I get the new computer with dual monitor support, it will be providing some nice widescreen for me.
Now as were in a little further you turn to the right and see this, HP printer in the corner. That 60" desk its sitting on it usually out a little further but I pushed it in so I can use it to lay my new computer on. That 60" is my "Surgery" table, I keep it void of papers and other nusiances and keep it clean. Then whenever I work on my PC's I can lay them down on that table and have more then enough room to spread out the components. You'll also notice the Window AC that can get pretty cold but is louder then a pack of deltas.
Turning to your left standing in the same spot as above you see this cute little 48" desk with a very old 14" Packard Hell monitor. This is where I go to work on just paper work, or if I want to run another PC and keep a close eye on it.
Behind my desk, you see the Logitech Elite Duo, very nice. You also see some logitechs nearly hanging off the desk, they'll have to do for now until design and construction of my studio monitors is complete.
Side view across the monitors, the TV's old and not that great but I mainly use it just to watch FOX shows and MadTV/SNL and local news. You'll also notice below that is the PC, the desks act as somewhat of a sound barrier from your ears which is nice, still gets good airflow the tile and being low help it maintain fairly consistant temps. Not to mention it's 3-4*C warmer at my eye level then down there inside the case.
My computer cabinet, the place where all magic things are stored. Staring from the bottom left, a big ol' box of 1000ft of CAT-5 Network cable, my second box already. Next to it on the same shelf, 2 older scanners, and 4 pairs of powered Altec Lansing computer speakers. There's also some old game boxes as well.
To the extreme right, an old gateway case which needs to have some hacking done to it before I can use it a printer on top of that, and my office supplys, paper, folders, paper clips, notepads, pencils, pens etc. You'll notice that right door doesnt open all the way due to the desk. Thats just fine since I don't need anything on that side very often and when I do I can usually reach, if not that desks slides out of the way easy.
Back to the left side 2nd shelf from bottom, on one side it says "Empty Cases" thats a full size paper box full of slim jewel cases, regular size, DVD cases, paper cases all empty. To the right of the empty cases are blank CD-R/RW's around 600...to bad I don't use CD-R/RW.
Left side again, 3rd shelf from bottom. Parts of PC's, old video cards, network cards, HD's, 2 hot swap racks, anti-static bags. It also has a bowl full of screws/small PC components, a PC repair kit, a network Printer sharing device, and they odd 8 port hub here and there.
Left side, 4th shelf from bottom. In the black crate, cables/wires. All in there own individual sandwich bag, then sorted into large ziploc bags. IDE cables, phone cords, network cable, audio cable, Mice 6-10 power cables. To the right of that on top of the 2 extra keyboard are around 8 or so power adapters for various devices.
Now the top shelf, this is where I keep all my documentation in boxes, and my Game CD's, it also houses the odd PC part that doesn't fit in the below shelves and temp stores just about anything.
on the very top is a P133 computer, no clue if it works still haven't looked, next to that 3 extra keyboard which makes 6 extra... Obsessive compulsive Free after rebate buys mostly.
I hope you enjoyed your short stay, come back anytime.

It around 156 square feet. These desks are modular, originally I had another 60" in here and they surrounded the edges of the room, but it was just to much desk space. Then I did a "command center" arrangment with a giant V in the middle of the office, but then most of the floor space was taken or not accesible, along with some of the desk space. This is thr 4th arrangment with 2 60", 1 48", and a corner 48" desk. I got tons of room for when I recieve packages or whatever to leave the boxes in here and still be able to move. I can also access all of my desk space.
My parents got roped into buying this stuff around 4-5 years ago. They said they were going to buy a computer desk for me, I told em no thanks. They ask why I say the floor looks old, no point in having a new desk, the walls are full of staples and screws. And I need a lot of space anyway. Roped em into tiling this floor (only room in the house with tile), painting the walls, pulling out screw and stapls and pudding it. All in all they spent probably 12-15x what they planned.
These desks are k!cka$$, I had some temporary fold out tables before, nearly lost 2 19" and a full system when one of the legs collapsed. So heres me a small guy around 119lbs at the time holding up all that stuff, then with one knee in the air holding it up and moving the stuff off the desk while pivoting on one leg. The news ones are nice though solid construction, 1" table top. I've had them hold 400+ lbs and they don't even care.

Yea thats why I got the Cabinet, its a god send. Along with a big CD pouch where I keep all my OS/Programs/Drivers organized to I might add. Before doing reinstall's or trying to work on the computer was a real hassle, could never find anything without pouring out box after box of junk.

Yea I just put in a new video card when that was taken, so it dropped back to 640x480. I'm debating about whether or not to keep the server next to my gaming rig, or putting it next to the cabinet where the boxes are. It'd be kinda nice to put a small switchbox on this monitor/keyboard/mouse and when I'm playing a game, or waiting for a new map to load or something, use the other monitor and surf the net. Then when I'm just sitting on the desktop with my gaming rig, use it to do dual monitor. I just don't want the server adding excess heat right around the gaming rig.
Yea that packard bell is a POS, not even from any of my computers, someone gave it to me, displays with everything in a red tint. But its fine for just making sure a computer hasn't crashed, or simple setup.

The cabinet is great, I used to be the same way, all my software and manuals in big boxes, with misc parts and cables all mixed around. I dreaded re-formating so much, usually I'd just wait till more then 50% of my programs no longer worked, or windows woulden't boot. Now everythings organized, I can work on computers and know what parts I do and don't have, where my CD's are. Its a savior.
