Case fans gone crazy! Help!
Okay folks, I just received a Tt2 Smart Fan 2 with Coolmod and a Zalman case fan with the Quiet Mode resistor thing. I plug the Smart Fan into my CPU Fan mobo header and the Zalman with the resistor installed into the NB fan header, then check the BIOS for readings because they seem loud. They were each running at about 6000 RPM! I tried the variable resistor that came with the Smart Fan to no avail...the thing is wailing like a banshee. Anybody have any advice? My rails are dead-on except for my 12V at 12.4, and I am fairly sure everything is plugged in correctly.

It took me a couple trys to hook up the variable pot on my SF2! The pot attaches to the 2-pin plug. You'll hit the right combo, just keep trying
Edit: heps to splel korekly

I'm fairly certain it's plugged in right...what worries me is that BOTH fans are running obscenely fast. I tried it with the resistor off the Zalman...it honestly felt like it was moving more air than a Delta! This is kinda weird, I realize. I suppose that the irony here lies in the fact that I am now posting from an iMac...with no fans at all.

Hmmm...nevermind. Reset the CMOS and it fixed itself.

Resetting the CMOS would be the last thing I would suggest but hey, it worked! I wonder what was cause them to spin so fast though
