    Diablo II video error

Hey everyone - here is whats up.

Video card: Hercules Prophet II GeForce2 GTS running at stock speeds
Video driver: nVidia 44.03 (the most up to date according to nVidia)
DiabloII patch: 1.09D - the latest there is

    ....

here is the problem... once I'm in the game playing, I notice alot of tearing. I guess thats what its called... its kind of hard to describe. I notice on the screen sometimes that things pop up that don't need to be - like random artifacts and sometimes like whole portions of the game like things that should be placed at the top of the screen flash down at the bottom and then go back to normal. Sometimes huge white/black streaks appear vertically and flash for a second and then disappear. I've had the game lock up a few times and halt my system completely. I'm thinking this video card, which is almost 4 years old, is starting to die? But I haven't noticed any problems w/ other games or any desktop problems?

    Any help appreciated.
