Considering it's just a picture posted in the intarnetweb, I must say that that's one hell of a spray you did there. If you didn't mention that it was you're work, a lot of people would think that it was built like that.

    a) The paint is called Krylon Fusion - its made to paint over plastic.
    b) Open cd tray and remove the cover. Depending on brand mine came off by pulling outward and upward - BE CAREFULL
    c) Remove the plastic led light cover so u dont paint over it.
    d) Remove the plastic front panel around the outside of cd rom
    e) make sure to hold the spray can at least 10 inches away from the plastic pieces u want painted and do light applications. I did three coats

I might have to do another coat of blue on the tray covers because you can still see the printing underneath if you look close enough

    wow...

That is awesome how the cd tray cover match the lights on your nexus. It makes me want to cancel my order for black drives and get white ones that I can paint blue. Anyone know if you can paint over black drive?

yes u should be able to paint over the black tray covers. The blue is a close match to the LED but they only had two shades of blue to choose from so I chose the darker blue.
