Win98 USB DSL (Dial-up Networking connection) - connects, but nothing works..ideas?
Hey all..long time no see.
Some people I work for (yard work, etc) have BellSouth ADSL (supposed to be connected through a modem/router..but that never worked, and I don't know enough to set it up/fix it..so I put their USB modem back in, which used to work)..the modem syncs with the server and connects without a problem (dialup networking connection)..sits there saying it's connected, but it's dead. No websites work -- can't ping from MSDOS window either; tried both a URL and an IP (in case DNS was messed up). Any ideas?

call the ISP...
Ask if they log by MAC address...
Make sure that the IP is valid...
Make sure that the line isnt filtered....
if all else fails get a tech out there...

It's a USB line (no MAC that I'm aware from -- I have the exact same thing here)..but I guess I should have them bring a tech out.
