Does Windows XP have different loading screens for different hardware??

Ok....This is really bugging me..

I have two systems: One is a P4 system shown in my sig - the other is an AMD setup (800MHz T-Bird, Soyo Dragon KT266).

I've noticed that with the P4 setup, the computer goes from POST to the Windows XP loading logo, then to the logon screen.

The AMD setup however, goes from POST, to the little white progress bars along the bottom (a la Win2K style), to the WinXP loading screen, to the logon screen.

What is this all about?? I just reformatted my AMD setup last night, and it's still like this. I never had Win2K on it...
Those white progress bars load very quickly (3-4 seconds), but why don't I see this on my P4 system??
Does it just depend on the type of hardware you have installed?

Some motherboards give you a loading bar instead of showing you the IRQ allocation table, so this is why you get a loading bar after POST. It doesn't mean anythings wrong, i guess it doesn't happen on the P4 machine because it has a different motherboard

Hmm, interesting.
Well, maybe I should've mentioned that I do see the IRQ allocation table after POST on the AMD setup as well. It's just that the P4 goes straight from that, to the WinXP Pro loading screen. The AMD setup has the white progress bars inbetween...

Those white loading bars are exactly like those for Win2K - It just says "Starting Windows XP" above them, and it even says "for advanced trobleshooting...press F8" underneath... or something like that. It's definitely part of WinXP...Im just not sure why they're seen on one system, and not on the other...

Still, maybe it's the hardware that causes this...?

All computers have the loading bar moving so fast on your P4 that you do not see it. The white loading bar moves faster on Windows XP than it does on 2000. I see the loading bar every time I use my P2 450, but I never see it on the comp in my sig or my laptop. It has to do with loading time and does not matter what brand of processor or motherboard you have.

Ok, well I guess that makes some sense..
So if my P4 loads so fast that I don't see that white loading bar, when am I supposed to press F8 if I need to ?

Start press rigth at boot up!
