Important Windows XP question

How do i set the default path for programs to install themselves to the D:\Program Files\.... instead of C:\Program Files\?? i want to do this because my C: drive is used only for my operating system. I tried TweakUI for windows xp, but couldn't find it in there like i did with Win2kpro. Thanks for the help.

It's controlled in your registry. You'll need to use REGEDIT to edit the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  SOFTWARE
    Microsoft
      Windows
        CurrentVersion

          ProgramFilesDirectory

In that key, change C:\Program Files to D:\Program Files or whatever you want.

That won't change where other things are installed, though. Like .dll files and such that must be installed where windows is.
