    Lightbulb 95/98 don't work with 2.2ghz+ cpus??

    hmm, a friend sent this to me, is this true? I built a P4 rig about a month ago and it seemed to run fine with 98, it only ran into problems because the guy had 512MB of ram. But what's of this Windows Protection Error? Does that affect 98SE or just 98FE?

    ohh its true...

    its what I like to call a consistently intermediate problem. It happens to be true just enough to make you not want to bother with messing with it after a while.

    I dont believe that

    I had windows 98se on my 2.4c overclocked to 3.4Ghz... Worked great... But I prefer Windows XP.. I became to spolied

    Yeah... I knew that there's a limited memory issue (mainly no more than 512 MB for Win 98) but that's fixable. CPU limitations?? It's my first time...

    I did have 1GB of ram and another machine that has more then 512MB running windows 98se without a problem...

    I dont know if 98se takes full advantage of it all

    Windows 98se will allow 512 but it doesnt use it effecently like WIN2k and WINXP would. So putting 512mb it might load but if it will work to the point where you notice it. thats a big fat no.

    You could try underclocking the CPU to see if that helps.
