    FX 5900 issues with A7N8X ?

Are there any issues with FX 5900 VCs and the ASUS A7N8X?

A friend of mine got a bunch of new computer parts and it seems windows 98 locks up during the installation.
The new parts he got are the FX 5900 (Gainward 1200 FX Ultra..blahblah...ultralongname...just no ultra chip ), Corsair PC 3200 DDR, and a burner.

None of the above components are known to work.
His mobo was running a barton 2800 just fine before (so CPU and mobo should be fine).
Way back when the ASUS was new it had some problems with the 9700 (if memory serves), are there any known issues with this mobo and a FX 5900 chip?
(oh Linux doesn't like the hardware either it seems)
