New rig built, bored - case?

I never thought it would turn like this I figured i would build my new rig ( in case your curious here are the specs - Abit NF7-s v2.0, amd 2500barton, Ati Radeon 9800pro, 512mb pc3200 buffalo tech ram, Slk 900-u - Thermaltake smartcase fan 2, ) Anyway, i'm bored, ESPECIALLY with the look of my case - Its the ANTEC SOHO File ServerTower ATX Case Model SX1040BII with 400 Watt Smart Power : Dimensions:20.6" x 8.1" x 18.6" (H) x (W) x (D)*! STEEL !* In other words, HUGE, and HEAVY. Ok i dont know if i want to buy a window kit for this beast or just buy a new case heh. I would like a window, but i'm not sure if i should just buy a whole new case, because i'm thinking this case is a little louder because of the steel. Is it worth modding a window kit into this, or would it be easier and cheaper and time consuming to buy a new case with a window in it already?????? If you think a window kit, hows the best way to approach this? If its a new case, which one? ideas and comments greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks guys!

    I have the same case

It is quite heavy... I thought about a window kit.. I looked at the stock Antec windows that will fit the case.. And they are ugly.. I hate the little slot vent on the side...

So I would need to make my own

Yes, the only new side panels with windows they make for my case, is one with a ugly looking side fan on it, i'm not to fond of it really. Colossus is this case rather loud? compared to others? I would like to put my own window and new cables and lights and stuff, but i'm not sure if i want to mod this huge case, hauling it around to friends houses and such :-/ Ahh help What are some good cases with windows? I looked at the lian li cases with the top blow holes and stuff, but the ones with the windows also are very expensive heh. Ideas please, thanks !

I wouldnt use that case for lan partys.. Its just that heavy... You dont even want to know how heavy mine is fully loaded with 5 drives

However it would look nice with a window... I dont really like the stock fans that comes with the case.. They are really low volume fans.. I picked up a few YS Tech 80mm fans for it...

Its just the fact that it was nice and roomy, i didnt think a case being big wouldnt be that big of a problem runnin to my friends house and stuff. Hmm, what are some good cases? that would be easy to carry around, but yet roomy enough to not have to pay the hospital a visit because i have to get my stitches in mah hand Thanks. Maybe the lanboy.......who knows.

Hmm, great price for the Lanboy , 80$. But i dont need a powersupply, I would prefer black, because of the black rom drives i have. The air flow doesnt look to superb in that case either, 1 fan in the front, where there really isnt anything it can flow through in the front and one in the back ..... looks pretty crowded in there too, but what do i know, i just built my first rig hehe.

Saw the Lanboy recently at a Computer store. Smaller and lighter than my Antec (same as yours) but in my opinion not as solid or nice. Of course I don't go to Lan parties so....

Its not as much as going to huge lan parties. My neighbor has 4 or 5 people over every once and a while, and i take it over to my buddies house every once and a while. Not that big of a deal, just sorta bored want to make something cool out of a little money.

I beleive the case is 30 pounds without any components

I do love this case, however.

Man everyone is building right now! I am so jeolous!

This was me last year though, I was all excited cause you guys helped me pick out my beast, but now she's older and showing her age

At least I'm getting an 8RDA+ and 2100+ soon, I guess that's some kind of an upgrade.

You better post up pics man!

Visit our how to section. Then design and cut your own window. That way its unique to your case.

You could look into handles that might make that big thing easier to lug around. It would still be heavy but might be easier to carry.
