how do i get windows xp to not bring up that stupid welcome screen where i have to click my name. I just want it to go from the loading screen straight into the system. Thanks

To automatically log on as a particular user, the simplest way is to use Microsoft's TweakUI utility from their Power Toys collection or something like it.
