    It's done (whew) (56K warning)

Just wanted to do something a little different..

    It's only a P3 933
    256MB ram
    15gig HD
    8x8x32 CD-RW drive
Radeon 32 SDR w/ TV out
    Audigy 2 (spare)

The motherboard tray which has been heavily cut down was from an old ATX case. The plate at the bottom, the CD-RW drive brackets / pillars and the HD mounting brackets were hand made. The washers, nuts and support posts are not painted. I cut blue vinyl tape to the shape of them and let me tell you that was a pain.

This sits in my livingroom as my media PC to play Divx / MP3 files and misc. MAME games / internet browsing (large type)..

EDIT: Forgot to mention the display - It's a small 320x200 NTSC display from a surplus place. Lucky find.. The machine is networked to my main PC in the basement where I keep everything. Both of those machines go through the Netgear RT314 router to Roadrunner..

Night all.. It's 2:38am here and I gotta sleep.. ugh.. :-P

Says I'm logged in when I go, but I don't see any pictures . Then I go click on "All albums" and I get this:

    * Public sharing of files/full-size images only available for Premium Service users.
. If you don't find any decent picture hosting sites (You can look for some on www.google.com) I can try to host some pictures for you, just pop me a PM.

Wow, that looks really awsome. The blue contrasts with the wood very nicely. It's really nice to see someone doing things differently (especially when well executed). You did a very nice job with all the cables, they're barely noticeable.

Hey thanks guys Glad you like it.. I had a few cathodes burn out for some reason (?) so I had to make a little LED strip with high intensity blue LED's. Have you guys ever experienced any cathode problems?

EDIT: I'm looking forward to any progress on that tube case Zack

Verryy nice. How long did you spend building that? Looks like it took many many man hours.

Whoohoo! Thanks for the stat bump.. I've failed a few save vs. rolls against 'cut self on metal' but I have emerged victorious!

I wish I knew.. I'm sure it took longer than I expected - everything I do does

I'd have to say the most time consuming part was extending the motherboard power connector. I had to offset the wire extensions diagonally so they would all fit with the heat shrink tubing in the large split loom. The CD mod really was very fast. I removed the front LED and replaced that with two high intensity red LED's mounting inside the back of the drive. One of the pics kind of shows it lighting up.. looks like it doesn't photograph all that well..

Im still toying with the idea of using some kind of clear conductor for the fans - that would let me lose those two black cables running up the sides of the thing.

Thanks TAZTG & Xp I'm glad you like it..

The display is from a company called 'Primeview' and the outer shell was damaged. I took the main part out and painted the outer bezel blue and then reassembled it. The rest of the control boards for it are in the top of the table. It ended up being a fairly decent display but it's not really usable at all for small text. Very hard to make out.

Yay! I can see the pics! Very impressive. I love the wire steathing and contrasting colors. Creativity and originality are the cornerstones of modding. WTG!
