Staying away from forum is good for enjoyment of pc
I've noticed a direct correlation between my enjoyment of my pc and the time I spend reading/posting on these forums!!
I took a breather where I didn't read anything on this forums for a couple of weeks, and my satisfaction of my pc jumped immensely! Before I stopped, I was about to pull the trigger on a dual 3.06 xeon rig. LOL. My p4 2.4 oc'ed wasn't enough! Ah well..
Anyway, good to read about all these great rigs people are putting together.

Oh man. Your system totally, super, omega sucks. You should have bought the dual 3.06 system. Now you can't play uber games like the original Quake and Ultima Online. lol. I read the forums because it helps me stay on top of tech. I KNOW that a system is obsolete about a year BEFORE you even order it. Comdex is evidence of that. Big deal though. You could always get a Mac, then it doesn't matter what's in it because it just looks pretty.

I also think it's a good thing to leave these forums for awhile. I don't know if you guys have noticed, but I haven't been posting here as regularly as I used to. I'm lucky if I even post once a day some weeks. I really don't care if my system is getting old. It still does what I need it to do.

I also agree. I just have lost interest in my computer lately. I still do bits and pieces and read some postes here about once or twice a week but I'm just not into it at the moment. Doing other things with my life.
When I get back into upgradeing I'll probably get into the forums again but at them moment I'm just cruising!
edit: it's funy but I've noticed a huge new group of posters lately. Most of the main ppl who used to post when I was on have gone quiet.
Cheers,

I know, the bill for the internet got screwed up, so we didn't have internet for a month before it got straightened out. I didn't use my computer at all. I didn't even play games. I went cold turkey. I felt refreshed and read up on what i missed for that month.

This place definitely encourages one to go out and upgrade. Its a good thing, unless one has just upgraded! I realize that whenever I buy pc parts, its basically obsolete immediately (with the exception of keyboards, mice, and monitors). Its just tough to resist the urge to upgrade again. Somone took my post the wrong way about my p4 2.4 oc to 3.0-3.3 (depending on ambient temps) not being enough. I was recently doing a lot of video editing which just destroyed my machine for hours on end. (8+ hours of work for one bit with cpu 100% maxed). When I come on here and I see that someone just put together a machine that benches 15% faster, that's a real world savings. When I'm not checking in on here, I'm more happy with the way the machine runs and can deal with it taking its time doing computationally complex work.
