    Something out of the ordinary

I have been looking through various mod site and noticed nobody mods the motherboard side of their cases.

Am thinking of cutting the unused area of the motherboard out into a funky design and cutting a window into the panel on that side. Is there something inheritably wrong with doing this?

    cheers

No there's nothing wrong with that.

There's just not much to look at on the underside of a mobo. That's why no one does it.

You can do it if you want to.

my friend has a couple cases that he's put windows in on the mobo side...he's got the interior of his case painted, so it looks a lil better than a big slab of bare metal, but it's kinda nice with cathodes on because with both windows you get some light out of both sides.

Well one thing that would be nice to do on that end is stick another painted slab under a fancy window design. So, instead of looking through a clear window at the metal, making the filled design. It would just be a full color fill

I did it, check it out it's on my BLUBYU case it in the forum also

"also installed mirrored window on right side. Of name tag, equipment list. That changes colour under cold cathode lighting, gold lettering changes to silver and window glows blue (pic of in day light, almost dark and what name tag says.)can be changed easily when upgrading."

An interesting thing to try would be to use a UV reactive pen and trace out some lines on the bottom of the MB, then poke a light under and /or over so it lights em up.
