    New Video Card - Approved?

After my hunting, decided to go with a 9800np, which if the link works, you can see it here:

    BeanPole System v 2

Just scroll down to video card, see what I plan on poppin' in the new system, and you can click on it if you'd like to see a link to it. It may not work, but if thats the case I'll change it later :P

9800np to be OC'd to Pro speeds, and its an upgrade from my GeForce2 GTS 64MB.... oh god!

    Dave

EDIT: The link didn't work, I screwed it up and don't have time to adjust it - but just go to newegg and search for it and you'll see its $259 !!!

System looks good, the only thing I'll comment on is that it's #1, gonna be extremely loud (the fan controller will only do 4 fans) and 2nd, the Tornado fans won't fit in the Antec's fan mounting things... They only take 25mm width fans.. Something to think about!

Huh... gkline told me that the 80mm fans would fit into the Antec case because he said that all Antec's shipped with generic 80mm's. I figured I'd just pop em' outta there and put in the Tornado's - and yes I know the Nexus only supports 4 cards but one is going to be an exhaust and it won't need a controller... at least unless I change my mind. But if you think the system looks good otherwise, then thanks (I'll post a question about the case in the case forums!)

Yes the Antec does ship with 80mm fans, but they have to be 25mm deep to fit in the holder.

The Nexus can handle several fans per port, just make sure the total load doesn't exceed the port's max load. One of my ports is handling a case fan and my vid card fan. Its true, the Antec fan holders can only handle 80x25mm fans, but with a little inventive modding maybe you can make it work.

nice rig you are upgrading to, one thing, get corsair pc3200 XMS ram instead of hyperX for obvious reasons You could also get an xp2100 instead, this is your choice based on overclockability, people say you cant go wrong with the xp2100 and if anyone wants to prove me wrong go ahead but I say xp2100s are good overclockers

anyway if everything goes right, you could be looking at as much as 18k marks

18k? how about 19k? his rig is very similar to mine, but he has the advantage of much faster ram in dual channel mode. i still use "slow" pc2700 in single channel.

I'd definitely stick with the Barton. The added 256K really helps in overall performance.
