Installshield Probs with mutliple-cd games
hmm, when I try to install Splinter Cell, Enter The Matrix, X2, Giants, etc. I get an error about halfway through the install that says, "The Wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume SC1 (splinter cell CD1) into Drive F:..." And the options are cancel, try again, and continue.
I know this is a WinXP specific prob, seeing as I didn't get it on 98.
If I put CD1 in and continue, the files won't copy right (because it's copying files from CD2/3 already) and installshield will crash.
If I don't put in CD1, I can't continue the install, selecting cancel closes installshield.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have any other CD/DVD related issues?? If not you could try updating the windows installer runtime on your system.
I seem to rember there was a problem with c_dilla and XP. Remove any c_dilla directories you may have on your system.
Also make sure you are running XP with the latest SP and hotfixes.

hmm, I got SP1 and all the hot fixes. When I disabled all the startup items and services and restarted, I was able to install everything fine, so I'm guessing it's a service/startup item that's the cause of the prob. =/ Other than that, no other issues with my cd/dvd drives

Are these original CDs or backup copies?
Are you installing from the burner or DVD (use DVD)?
What burnware is currently installed on your system?

Original CDs and backup copies. Installed from the burner and the dvd-rom. Right now, I have CD-Rwin installed, nothing else as of yet (recently formatted).
