Just Installed My New ATI Radeon 9600 256mb. Something Is Wrong!!!

Hi, I Just Installed My New ATI Radeon 9600 256mb. Something Is Wrong with it. I don't quite know what it is but everything seems to be working wrong. The "8-bit palletted textures" in the FF8 for the PC FAILS and I'm only getting about twenty frames on Counter Strike, DUST! Can someone help me out here. I also reformatted the drive so I know it's not a driver confliction. Perhaps I have crappy drivers or something. Anybody know anything?

    Yeah, maybe a crappy driver.
    Which driver are you using?

(try posting this in the video card forum and you'll get lots of suggestions) Or mods could move this.

Yeah I have everything tweaked out to High Quality. 6x AA and all. I like it like that. The thing is though, when I was running my GeForce3, I ran the same setting and got better results. Now I don't know what to do. This sucks bad!

notch the FSAA down from 6x to 4x, you wont notice any difference except another 50fps.

NVM. I just found out what Cats 3.6 means. Yeah I downloaded it from ATI's website. Unfortunately, when I install those drivers, my computer will only boot under safemode, meaning those drivers have beef with something else in my computer, I can't figure out what though. = ( I'm still trying to get that 8-bit Paletted Textures thing fixed for Final Fantasy 8. = (

I think that you need to try out a different driver to see if that solves your problems.

What other kinds of drivers are there. I thought I'm only able to use ATI drivers for this card. What site can I go to, to find other drivers available.

Just tried those out. Same problems. I'm guessing it's the whole AGP driver thingy. Well my new motherboard comes in tomarrow so... wish me luck. Thanks everybody.
