whatever you buy, make sure that you can buy it twice...
dorm thiefs are RUTHLESS.
Theyll take your underwear if they think they could get a dollar for it.

The Monsoon PM-14's paired with a Revolution card will sound excellent, you will not be disappointed. I installed this combo for a family member recently and get to hear it all the time, and the sound quality is superb.
In the Revo driver, turn off the crossover entirely, since the PM-14's have a built-in crossover. Turn off bass-management too, and select the "no processing" mode. Listen to .wav files ripped to hard disk with EAC at highest quality, using Winamp 2.91 with the kernel streaming plug-in. Very nice.
My main rig (nice & silent):
| SOYO SY-TISU | PIII-S 1.4GHz @ 1.225V with SLK-800(A) | 2 x 256MB Mushkin High Performance REV 3+ | Albatron Ti4600V with Zalman ZM80A-HP | Terratec DMX 6fire LT | Hauppauge WinTV-Theater | Intel Pro/100 VE | SOYO VT6202 | Hitachi Travelstar 5K80 40GB in Molex SilentDrive Enclosure | Samsung SM-348B | Sunbeam Rheobus | SilentMaxx ProSilence PCS-350 | Creative MegaWorks THX® 2.1 250D | Antec SX1030B | SMC 7008BR Barricade | Lexmark E323n | IBM P96 19" FD Trinitron | Win2K Pro SP4 |

dude, chicks hate that ****. I know because I tried it, they are always tring to sleep, and come biatching. Happened to me as well as two other guys on my floor.
I got some z560s, they are great. I jsut use the front 2 speakers though. But if you don't care about other people hearing the music, might I suggest a good pair of hear phones. Say some closes headphones from Seinnheiser (closed meing you can't hear what's out side).

Foobar2000 with ASIO/Kernel streaming is supposed to be the best. I just hate the interface though.
-

yeah foobar is nice, too bad there isn't a linux port yet. I actually like of like the interface though.

Anybody have a link about the PM-14's? I've never seen them. So in that case I say get the logitechs. Especially at a low price like that.
