hmm, that's a pretty neat idea. the problem is when u download pictures, mp3s, video or zip files that trick is useless.

    but smart idea for websurfing

I saw an ad for a box that combines 2 high speed internet connections, they can be different speeds. It'd be kinda cool to do 2 DSL lines, or even 1 DSL, 1 cable. Cable allowing that burst speed, DSL for reliablity. It was a little pricey, like $300 for the box. But for someone who needs a connection faster then DSL or Cable but isnt ready to get T1 or similar it seems like a damn good idea.

actually I believe the pictures that are displayed on the sites do get compressed as well...however when this happens there will most likely be some image degration...someone that I know has this 5x faster 56k thing and when they got it they noticed that the colors on pictures would be a little off or blurry...and actual download speeds do not increase though...

it's basically 2 56k modems working together but it's pretty expensive since you need 2 phone lines and (maybe?) 2 accounts depending on if your isp supports it or not...

i think that you were talking about a load balancing router. i looked into it, and its not worth it unless you are using t1 lines or above.

I saw it on an ad in Gamespy. I don't know if this is the one I looked at but it has a review

He said it did balance the D/L's well, and that the internet seemed faster.
