problem with onboard sound
I just got my MSI 845PE Max3 mobo, and it has onboard sound. It's activated in the bios, but still won't work. I have a set of old sony speakers that have served me well for the last 4 years. Does anyone know how to solve this?
I will be getting a SB Audigy 2 Platinum along with a a surround sound system around christmas, and therefore only need a temporary solution. I am thinking of getting some $20 4.1 sound card.
Any help with the onboard sound?
What cheap soundcards are good enough for the time being?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I am writing this in school so i dont have any screnshots available, but should have some in a few hours.
Yes, I am missing some drivers, but MSI doesnät have anything on their site and because its onboard, i have no idea which drivers to get from somewhere else.
Which brings me back to a temporarz solution in form of a cheap soundcard. discuss.

Got any conflicts in device manager?

Hammerhead Shark
Yeah check the device manager. I bet you have a question mark there which means the drivers aern't installed for that device.

I would also say that you have missing drivers for the soundcard as well.
