Nobody really knows, but I think that the CS team will be the first to get the SDK so they can start working on the mod with the source engine.

There are so many possibilities with source i cant imagine what cs2 could be like, its just mind boggling.

Considering that the CS team is still working on CS 1.6, I highly doubt that we will see CS 2 within a year.

Who says they are working on CS 1.6? I am almost positive that 1.6 will be scraped when HL2 comes out.

I heard somewhere that the CS team has the Source engine already and is working on it. I think 1.6 is pretty much near final (although they still haven't fixed that shield bug ).

In any event, probably 2004 sometime.

They are really draggin out CS1.6 even though you can play it already.

Just crappy they are not doing a bi release.

Who cares, I haven't played CS since spring.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the (supposed) development of CS2 is well under way at this point. It makes sense that they'd get the HL2 SDK long before anyone else, seeing as Counter-Strike is now a Valve-sponsored product. Who knows, we may even see a release date for CS2 shortly after HL2's.

How about the fact that they have new code to dowload about once a week?
