    did i fry my ram?

I have a 512mb stick of Samsung pc333 ddram. For a round of benchmarking, i upped the speeds to 2-2-2-6. Afterwards i turned them to the default 2-3-3-6 agian, but the machine is suddenly going tarribly slow (that black winxp screen with the green loading thing stays about 5 secs instead of less than 1) and even froze once. dxdiag tells me i still have 512mb, any tips? If its broken, do you think i will be able to return it? eg can they see i ran it at 2-2-2-6?

Hmm, I am not sure but I don't think RAM can 'break' like that. To my understanding, it works, or it doesn't work, nothing in the middle.

thanks. I think it was because I started some old software with the ram in 2-2-2-6. on a side note, can I run the ram at 2-2-2-5 for a longer time without any added cooling or do i need some extra coolink for that?

edit: i did memtest for 30 minutes and got no mistakes. maybe it just didn't like running at high speeds.

It's not broke I don't think man. Memory just stops working if it doesnt work, no inbetween stuff as said before. Try different timings etc, if no luck maybe a reformat of windows might be it? I duno.
