    PS2 used..

    Hi,
    I a planning to get a used PS2 for my brother, I need to know how can I determine how old it is from the serial no.

    can anyone help me here

    it says on top scph-39004

    how old is this machine?
    My first PC...Apple //e 1982
    Then a Mac
    switch 1-Amiga 2000
    switch 2-386SX
    Then 486 DX4 100
    Then PIII 500
    Then P4 2.53B
    Now (upgraded)

    That is a v7 Aus model, the v7s are the newest ones outside of Japan (8 being newest in Japan).

    You dont have to worry about the laser failing on that thing, the v7 lasers are golden
