Windows Media Player- Stuttering, sound and picture not matching
I think I messed up when installing Windows Media Player. I was suppose to reboot after I installed DirextX 9, but I didn't and I went ahead and installed the Windows Media 9 Update. Now when I play movies (anime) from the DVD-ROM drive (or my CD-RW), the picture stutters and doesn't keep time with the sound. The sound moves ahead... its all screwed up. Windows Media Player then pops up saying that it crashed and asked me if I wanted to report the problem.
Steps I've taken to troubshoot:
I installed another file Windows Update that says something about fixing a flaw in Media Player 9. This update fixed nothing.
I've tried running the CD on a different computer and it works.
I've also tried using a different program to run the CD. I used DivX Player 2.1 and that worked.
How do I fix this pestering problem I'm having without having to do a clean install. I was thinking about uninstalling Windows Media Player 9, but its not listed in the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
Any help appreciated!

I remember back when WMP 9 was just beta the only way to uninstall it was with a system restore. I don't know if it's still that way or not (I don't use it).
