Sound problems with new nforce2 drivers.

Wiped and reinstalled winxp pro on my main comp, put the newest nforce2 drivers on(2.45's)from asus site and am getting hiccups while playing games, most notably dark age of camelot.

I'll be playing for a few min when the sound starts to hiccup and doest stop, other small glitchy sounds while playing other games...not sure wth is goin on here.

Newest drivers for everything that i can think of, also directx 9.0b.

    any suggestions?

    thx.

Check in the affected to games to make sure they are using hardware acceleration.

Also check the nForce audio control panel and reduce your premix levels if they are maxed out, this can cause crackling and other audio issues. If your audio is sharing an IRQ with a network card/video/etc. this can be the culprit too. You might be able to switch IRQ's around int he device manager, but you might want to reinstall with APIC disabled if this is the case, so you have some control over the IRQ assignments post-install. This could prove to be a pain though, too

I would try updating BIOS first to see if it resolves any problems for you, but I wouldn't be suprised if your audio was sharing resources with another PCI device.
    Stuff and stuff
