    Portable digital photo storage devices

    Am looking at purchasing a portable mass storage device for storing photos when I am travelling. Anyone have any suggestions? My camera takes compactflash cards

    A LARGE compact flash card like 1 gig. As i don't know of a protable storage deviece that will Dl the files from a camera or even the card but it might be out there. If you have a laptop you would be good to go. sorry i am not more help maybe someone else will have better suggestion.

    thanks for the reply but unfortunately a large flash card wont do, typically I will shoot between 1-2 gig worth of photos per day. I have two 512 cards and they dont last that long. I am still on the hunt for one of these thingy's if I find something I will let you know. I just may have to look at a laptop but dont want to spend that kind of money for a simple storage unit.

    I am totally speaking out of my arse here, but I think it is possible to store photos and such on an ipod.

    u can store them on Ipods and other MP3 players but you need a PC as the mediator to do it.

    Just try to Find you a cheap laptop wiht USB connection and a good sized hard drive and you will be good to go. You should be able to pick one up for what you are wanting to do for under 500 (although might have to get it used).
