    Savage

Anyone else beta testing this game? I think it's a great concept and fun to play. I like being the commander. If your troops aren't complete morons it's great. Check it out if you aren't familiar with it.

Yes, I was in beta. Just deleted it this morning, actually. Got rather stale. Not a lot of variety. Gameplay's just kinda... bleah. Definitely not on my list of games to buy.

I just looked at your system specs. I would think that any gameplay would be bleah on that thing.

LOL. I used a housemate's PC to play. If I had played on my PC, I'd have merely gotten bored sooner.

I will admit, though, that playing with friends and having a well-orchestrated strategy would quite likely make the game very fun. I did play a couple matches where the commander really knew what he was doing and I was rarely without orders to build, repair, guard, attack, etc, and it was really enjoyable. That also enabled us to absolutely crush the opposing team.

I just don't think it's got a lot of replay value. Sure, maybe it would last a month or two on my hard drive, but after that... *shrug*

I play Warcraft 3 with people I know a lot and this basically takes that game a few steps further. You don't have to worry about your troops getting attacked and not reacting, plus they actually think on their own. True if you get some retards on your team this is a bad thing, but with a good commander you know roughly what is going on. The ability to mod this game is huge. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some great ones come out for it.

I've been beta testing it since the beginning, I wasnt all that impressed with it.

It lacks what is known as "teh funz" in gaming terms. In human terms, Savage just isn't all that fun. I agree that the game has HUGE modding potential if people pick up on it (an SDK has already been confirmed for release).

Schmunkel98: This isnt the first game to implement this type of interface; a reasonably new, popular, and significantly more entertaining game is a Half-Life mod named Natural Selection

Hmm, haven't tried NS yet. So they set up a command position and integrated resources, building and troop construction?
