Temple of Elemental Evil, good deals?
After looking at the screenshots, reading the FAQ, etc., I am really looking forward to the Temple of Elemental Evil www.troikagames.com. The release date seems to vary from 9/16-10/01, but every place I've seen it (amazon, gamestop, etc.), has it at the same price, 49.99. To me, this is a lot of money. Has anyone seen any deals on this one they would care to share?

I am SOOO awaiting this one, and would gladly fork over $40, but not $50...maybe that's the collector's edition or something.
I think BGII was $50 at release, too.

They are throwing in a free map with pre-orders, but it is not a special collectors edition. Just the regular pre-release price. And I agree, it is about 10 bucks more than I can afford to spend on a game. I'm hoping there will be some kind of deal at the actual release date.

I friggin' can't wait for this one! I can remember DM-ing that module in the good ole days. I used to read the module at night for the hell of it. Absolutely the coolest group of AD&D modules ever! Giants, drow, Loth, man I get the shakes just thinking about it.
As for deals, I'd wait a few weeks (since it just went gold) and see what CompUSA, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. do with it. I bet one if not all come up with some good deal on it.

Yeah, the fact that this is coming back out almost makes me want to start playing PnP D&D again...

Well said!
Anyway, for the rest of you interested in the game, gogamer.com has it for ten dollars off the retail, at 39.99. I ordered mine last night, ships 9/23.

Anyone heard anymore hype on this game? 9/23 release date and NOTHING anywhere...this probably won't come out until xmas.
I remember reading this module as well. I just finished the new book that is out.

as a matter of fact, there are quite a few of those old greyhawk modules that have finally been turned into books.
Oh yeah Amazon.com:

A couple of different sites have it up that it's gone gold, although there hasn't been any official announcement by Atari IIRC...very possible that it will make the 23rd as a release date.
