Please help, Identity Theft - not sure where to post.

Ok, so the other night I received an e-mail stating my e-mail address was changed to my eBay account. So I got online with their online chat support and they said to contact safe harbor. I finally contacted safe harbor and they said they suspended my account before any of the posts finalized and all that.

Basically I'm just wondering if there is any way to take legal action against this person. I have the address and phone # that they changed in the eBay registration. I looked up the address and I got a different phone number then the one that they listed on e-bay. I called the one on eBay and got some foreign speaking voicemail. It's a New York number owned by Omnipoint. Basically I'm just wondering if there is any way to take this to the police or anything like that. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I just wasn't sure where to go. Thank you very much.

If it was just your eBay account that was hijacked, your recourse is with eBay and, I guess, Safe Harbor. They seem to have done all they can do, though.

If you want to proceed farther, look through the information on this Federal Trade Commisssion page.

They have resolved the issue on their part, I'm just wondering if it's worth it to take it any further or if I can even take it any further.
