Some 9500np`s could be softmodded and have no artifacts and others would have artifacts and you would just have to flash back to the original bio`s to get rid of them. I hate to say it but there were a lot more failures then successes. If you get a chance, I would replace it and get a 9600pro or better video card if you can afford it.

This is an excerpt from the website:
which states that they guarantee that the card has no artifacts. I'll probably sens them an email tomorrow and the nsend the card in. Any suggestions on how to get them to just give me the money back for a 9800np?

You can ask them to credit what you paid for the 9500np towards getting a 9800np and then you pay the differance. That is if you are getting it from the same place, you should have no trouble doing that if they guaranteed no artifacts.

What's the price difference between the R9500np modded and the R9800np? If the price difference is large, I'd suggest going for another and trying it.

i got it for my birthday, but i checked and it was a complete ripoff, they charged 240 (!) euros for it. So I'll basically be able to trade it in, IF they let me. The I'd get a 9800np for about 300.

VOLTAGE
Its a voltage problem. Probably you card doesnt get 3.3V it should. AGPs run on 3.3, while the PCI bus runs 5 and 3.3v. I had similar problems, but getting a TRUE powersupply fixed them all. I have a similar photo sitting on my computer right here, with similar artifacts.
Check ur voltage through motherboard monitor.

Wait a second - they guarantee the card has no artifacts AFTER you softmod it?? I find that diffucult to believe. I'm sorry, but after the VAST amount of data available re. artifacts after softmodding, I can't with conscience agree with being able to get a full exchange on the card.

they do - they have like bazillion good references and say they check every card before they sell it, and sell the ones that show artifacts cheaper. Anyway, I haven't gotten anything back yet, which is very strange because before, the emailing went very smooth and i get responses within less than a day.
