    inactive start menus items- easy question

    i hate in xp how it hides the inactive(less used) items in the start menu. i know there is a setting to change this as i used to have it that way...but for the life of me i cannot find it can someone tell me where to change it? thanks!

    Start button then right click on a blank area to get properties- then task bar or start menu- explore from there. If you are talking about inactive icons on the task bar, you can stop it hiding all icons or go to customised to do just that.

    well, you know in the start menu, you go to programs and to get to all the programs you rarely click on you have to push those two little down arrows? how do i make it so that all items are always there?

    Right click the start button. Click properties. Go to Start Menu tab.
    Click customize button at the bottom. There is a list of tick boxes in a section called advanced start menu options. Uncheck the bottom one "use personalised menus".

    No prob.s Stupid feature that did my head in as well. If I didn't want to see something in my programs menu I'd bloody delete it wouldn't I? I don't need windows to hide it round the corner for me.
