PB Laptop... Possible to upgrade CPU?

I have a Packard Bell Easy One. It has a K6-2 450mhz CPU. I want to upgrade it to a K6-2+. I know how to build/upgrade Desktop PCs, but the thing about laptops is I don't know about the arrangement of the case etc. Is it possible to upgrade the CPU? is it just a case of getting in there, remove old CPU and slot in new one? Also since it is a PB BIOS, will it detect the new CPU ok? (new CPU will be supported by chipset/motherboard). Thanks...

That K6-2 will amost certainly be a desktop CPU, and should use the same 100MHz bus that a 500 or 550 would use. Could you get a K6-3 into it?

BIOS would be your only problem, but it's gotta worth the attempt if you have a good desktop chip lying around. I personally would be surprised if the BIOS didn't detect the new chip correctly.

I would personally be surprised if the BIOS could detect it. It's likely that your Packard Bell laptop's motherboard BIOS was created before the K6-2+ was created (Which was created around the time of the Slot A Thunderbird). You'll also need the correct voltage support for a K6-2+, since those need less potential difference to operate.

There is another model of my laptop, "easy one+" which has a K6-2+ in it, which is only real difference to mine... but the BIOS wont let me do jackS*it to anything.

Well, you could always just try it and see.
Just back everything out...and make sure you have
$150 in the bank just in case you need to buy a
    new one.
