Aero 7 Lite for AMD - HHhhmmmmm...
I got one of these babies at Fry's during it's grand opening for free. Now I'm trying to install it in a Sonata case on a ASUS a7n8x deluxe. This heat sink is a huge beast (although aluminum) that mounts using the clips on the processor socket. I'm worried the whole thing is going to break off. Plus, I'm worried that it won't keep the 2500+ cool enough.
So, did I get what I paid for? Or will this think work just fine. I may over OC, but not if things get too hot.
Comments?

Some folks swear by them; I was never tempted but I don't know much.
Why not try it and report to us? I doubt it would fall off; too many people like it who would have TOTALLY freaked if it were unstable.
Seriously, try it and let us know what we're missing. Supposedly no "dead spots" in the middle of the hs, right?

It's a good cooler...certainly a lot better than any stock AMD sink.

My SK7 weighs 485g and it's never fallen off. The Aero 7 Lite is 426g, so as long as it can fit I don't see why it would fall off, unless you don't install it correctly.
Here's a review- http://www.pimprig.com/modules.php?s...icle&artid=158
In their test 2100+ tops out at 47C under full load (Prime 95) using AS3. Not bad, though pretty good if you got it for free. I have an SK7 & SF2, 2100+ @ 2.3G, 1.8V 50-51C running SETI, though I'm only using Si thermal grease.

Ok, in it goes. Thanks for the replies. May take a little bit because I'm still waiting on the backplate for my MB.
