A question on BIOS overclocking setting
Hi, just a quick question on the BIOS setting for the Abit NF7-S rev2.0 board, there is this "CPU FSB/DRAM ratio" setting with the following options available: By SPD, 3/3, 3/4, 3/5, 3/6, 4/3, 4/4, 4/5, 4/6, 5/3, 5/4, 5/5, 5/6, 6/3, 6/4, 6/5, 6/6
in the manual, it says this item lets you set the processor FSB and memory clock divider ratio. For example, the setting is 4/6, the memory clock will be the processor FSB clock divded by 4 and times 6.
Here's the problem, rite now I am trying to OC my 2500+, I am trying 200 FSB rite now with the FSB/DRAM ratio to "3/3" which is 400Mhz....
but I also notice that when I set it to 4/4, 5/5, 6/6, they are all equals to 400Mhz.....so how do I know which one to pick?? Is it the higher, the better?? but they are all ratio of 1:1, isn't it? good question rite?

Athlons should be overclocked in 1:1(sync).
They are not all ratios of 1:1.

What do you mean by 1:1 (sync)???
the minimal number I have is 3/3 as the options I specified above...
so is 3/3 a 1:1 (sync)??

Great White Shark
It was stupid to what they did, because 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6 are all 1:1 ratios. They should have just put a single 1:1 ratio and then only listed on the async ratios.

So are you suggesting that it really doesn't matter which one I use...as long as it's a 1:1 ratio, rite?
so 6/6 doesn't mean it's faster rite?
