Awesome.
And this would be impressive if only it had online support!
-
Yeah what the hell. Why did Nintendo even make a ethernet adapter for ****s sake? Still going to be a cool game though.

I think this game will rock. I mean, 16 players, that's just cool. But yeah, as you guys said, there's no online support, which does suck a lot.

remember me?
Have you all seen the graphics? The screens I saw had a wierd feeling too them. Maybe it was just me.

How do you play 16 on it? Buy an ethernet deal for each and stick them all on a hub or what? I'm looking a buying 2 Gamecubes just because of this game.

Yeah...I was thinking the same thing...16 people without networking..
16 people via split screen??? Ouch..That would be hard to play...

Yeah, you probably still need to buy a router, or a switch.

All of the four GC's will require the ethernet adapters--$$$. That's $35 a piece.
Fook--the PS2/Xbox had seperate link cables that were a bit cheaper.
Of course using the ethernet adapter will mean "tunneling" can happen.
Which means if you wish to hassle with it you can get it online.

Well, I haven't heard anything official on how to hook it up from Nintendo yet. I think the game is supposed to come out in November. I believe the maximum amount of cars on the track at one time is 8, but you can team up with another person on each car for a total of 16 players simultaneously.

Ok, now I'm really confused. Check out this article:
http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/dri...w_6075353.html
Does this mean you can play four people on one cube, but if you want to play on a lan only two per cube can play?
The screenshot below shows a fourplayer game, but I have a feeling it is on just one cube.
http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/dri...s.html?page=64
I was hoping for up to 8 people to be able to play with two cubes, two etherner adapters, and a hub. It's going to suck if only 4 people can play against each other even with 2 cubes. Please, someone tell me that this isn't the case.

mario kart on SNES ruled, greatest game ever! well almost...but best game on a console. played the N64 version via an emulator back when i had a voodoo2, didn't like it...nothing like the snes version.

At least they dropped the price on the cubes down to $100. I'm going to need to buy 4 of the damn things, 4 more controllers, 4 ethernet cards, and 4 copies of Mario Kart Double Dash to play with eight people. Maybe they will have a Kart bundle near the release of the game.

Why would you need 4 GC's to play 8 player. That wouldn't make the slightest bit of sense. 4 controller ports for each cube.
