Hammerhead Shark
Best card at around $150
It's gotta be retail, not OEM. I think it's this:

Any other suggestions?

We're talking about a XP2000 system which on the long term can go to XP2800.

The 256MB card has almost no advantage over the 128MB card, so save $20 and get the $128MB version:

BTW, make sure you email/call them and make sure it's not a lite or EZ version.
EDIT: Checked the manufacturer's number and it is indeed an EZ version which means it's clocked at only 400MHz for the RAM instead of 600MHz like the full R9600Pro.

Also that 128MB card is also clocked at only 400MHz RAM instead of the usual 600MHz.
I'd really suggest you get something like this:

It's gotta be 256MB. It's got to be very long term as well. Was the link I provided in the first post the REAL 9600 pro or a lite version? Also, the Tachyon is out of stock.

Edit: Even though they say it has 300 mhz memory. I believe it only has 200 mhz memory, I would call them and make sure before I bought it. I came to this conclusion by checking out the video card on other websites and all of the retail powercolor 9600pro`s with 256mb ram I found, only have 200mhz ram.

256mb will do NOTHING for you in the next few years. The card will be obsolete before you'll need the extra ram. Or in other words - the card won't be able to run any games at the time that they do need 256mb on card ram.

People said the same thing about when 128MB cards came out in the wake of the 64MB GF3ti500s. Supposedly Half Life 2 will take advantage of 256MB interface.

no it won't!
they're not that stupid, a 9800Pro 128 stock will be able to have EVERYTHING turned on at 1024by7xx. A 9600Pro 256 won't have any advantages over the 128 version(ok it will but they're not worth 20 bucks)
