Freezes at Windows XP loading screen...?
I have a XP 1600+ amd. I have windows xp Pro on my computer...I recently just reinstalled my cpu and when i started it up, it froze at the windows xp loading screen. So I reset the cmos and same thing happened. It boots up in safe mode, but otherwise it'll just freeze. Any ideas?

The Wonder Taskmaster
hit the esc key when it loads if it stops hanging and loads up you might have a share drive that doesnt wanna mount. or do a msconfig and disable all start up items.

hmm i tried the msconfig and the esc key thing...both with no luck. Anything else? It'll just freeze when its on the screen with a blue bar moves across the screen to show that it is load and the backround is all black.

I had the problem, and I found 2 problems with my rig. First, I find that I didn't have the CPU properly seated. I just wiggled it alittle bit and somehow it came unseated. My other problem with not loading was I couldn't have my sound card in. Somehow the IRQ's conflicted, or something in that nature and well... I just had to take out my sound card and put it in a different PCI slot and everything worked.
