    Living mod?

I had a strange idea today, but now the possiblity of doing it is bugging me.

Has anyone tried modding a plant yet?

You could install pretty much everything in a plant pot, with a w/c system to both cool the rig and water the plant! People would really wonder when you plugged a 2ft. shrubbery into the wall

LOL Isezumi, you think that's strange I guess it's good I didn't mention some of my other ideas... like pet modding...

    It's... computerdog!!

    *ahem* anyway...

XP1800 you'll be seeing some more of the love machine before too long! It's all painted now actually, I've got the molding and latches and hinges done, still working on the front though and some other details. I decided to stop with the marginal updates and I'll post when I've got something worth seeing

Although... working like 16 hour days half the time I don't have a lot of spare hours to be doing the fun stuff

You could actually do a little modding with some like tropical plants... Like take a plant that needs heat and light. Then duct the CPUs exhaust into like a small container for the plant. Then have like a UV light hooked up to the soundcard so it pulses with the bass (someone did this with a neon light a while back). Course the only plant I know that would benifit from this is something that Tekime probably already has the seeds for

    Edit-----
My living mod is ME. I never turn the heat on in my apartment, just turn my window fan on exhaust and let my monitors and tower heat up my room.

LMAO! Geeez, one strange idea and you're branded a pothead! Although if I did have some seeds I suppose that UV mod could pay for itself given time, care and attention

I saw a mod that was a working box with a planter on top. From the front and sides, it looked like a regular plant. I don't know if I saw it here at SF or somewhere else......

    Anybody remember that one?

LMAO I have no idea what you were talking about I was referring to sunflower or dandelion seeds Actually I have never taken a puff of a cigarette or... anything else and Im proud of it =) Doesnt mean Im oblivious to it though.

Anyway.. If you wanted to get a legal tropical plant I bet the UV mod would work very well. Not to mention plants like music. Just get a plant that thrives in the shade, since the UV light would only be on with music while you are at the computer and it would be pulsing. Ive seen some really weird stuff at a green house back at Tech people made to regulate light exposure to plants.

Lol james, suuuuure that's not what ya meant! No, really, good for you smoke is evil. For those smokers out there green tea helps combat the likelihood of esophagus cancer though, according to some research my g/f was doing. She doens't smoke but she loves tea, lol I don't know how it would help the other kind of smoker though...

A plant mod would make a perfect multimedia box for the living room though. Music is good for plants, you could have the lights, the w/c could keep it watered, that would be awesome! Totally self-sustained! Maybe I could do it with some green tea!

Man life needs a pause button for stuff like this
    Stuff and stuff
