LOL, I hear ya. In the past month, I've almost been blindsided twice. (They didn't even shouldercheck to see if I was there.) But wouldn't crashing into someone waste YOUR time? (getting insurance info, repairs)

yeah it would but when your all "road raged" out your not thinking about all that stuff, then when you are thinking about it your thinking "hey it's gonna be so worth it" lol! but you gotta remember, if you make the slightest of any type of contact with another car the driver is likely to fall out the car door grabbing his/her neck yelling whiplash.
so what do you know of the quality etc of that particular onboard sound? i'm wondering what the cpu utilization difference will be, i think the live value uses like 1% if i remember a review, i know the live value is pretty old now but i always thought it was still superior to onboard sound... especially c-media, junk!

I didn't see any mention of it, which probably means you are getting the REALTEK version which is just a little better than AC'97. Basically you are better off with a SBLive in that case. Or you could get an Audigy1/2 and just be happy knowing you have a good soundcard.

who else makes good cards? i hear turtle beach is good, but i dont know how seriously they are taken by the gaming crowd...surely they have something better than a live value

For gaming, the Audigy 2 oem is the card you want. For music/dvd's, you'll want the M-Audio Revolution.

I don't know about that, for actual music you have to consider that M-Audio makes cards for their ins, not outs. They're a recording card, not a music production card.

I'd assume they have relatively good outputs but assuming that they're great for music is just more of an assumption. I think a lot of people get confused with these things easily, m-audio makes great 'audiophile' cards; however, they are not known for their outputs, more-so their inputs.

back to the dam topic, an audigy 5.1 is $48, that isnt too bad...the m-audio revoltuion is $90, but an awesome card! ill go with an audigy... didn't realize the sb live was so long in the tooth.
