Zoom-Zoom!
Battlefield Vietnam in-game soundtrack news
Turns out it will have an in-game/vehicle soundtrack like Vice City. Hope that song in the trailer I posted is there.

also...
Some other notes from the interview:
"NVA engineers have the ability to relocate spawn points, which gives a feeling that the NVA are coming from everywhere."
Ah I wondered how they were going to contribute to the "confusion factor" into the game balance. Closest it reminds me of is the Iwo Jima map bf1942 pureform.
"As I mentioned before, the foliage of Vietnam is one of the major hurdles we had to overcome. The [graphics system in Battlefield 1942] could not allow us to handle the sheer volume of foliage we needed to make a believable and immersive Vietnam, so we created a system that allows us to place thousands upon thousands of trees, ferns, and so on in the map. It allows us to really flesh out the maps and give the players the experience they expect."
This may sound odd, but I really liked the terrain model Serious Sam 2 used with the distance effect of the grass plains (demo).
"The weapons didn't pose too much of a [design] problem, because, for the most part, they are fairly straightforward items. The helicopters, with their innate abilities, provide advantages that never existed in Battlefield 1942, like hovering next to a flag and then flying to the next point. They also offer a good measure of protection. It's rather like sitting in a flying tank, which was the focus in creating the helicopters. But humans are great problem solvers, and there are many ways to take down a helicopter. When all is said and done, the balance is still intact."
It's kind of odd though, knowing that the DC mod really already incorporated a lot of modern weapon models and it's being discussed in future tense. Somewhat anti-climactic, but at least with the assumption that in foresight they will try to trump the previous vehicle models.
