    256mb Sony Memory Stick question

I am looking at purchasing a 256MB Memory Stick but and the website states:

"Categorize your digital content with the memory select function. Organize your digital pictures on side A and your digital music on side B, or your personal files on side A and your public files on side B. Memory Stick® media with memory select function keeps your digital files in order."

It also says that it is actually 128MBx2.

Notice where it says side A and side B? My memory sticks only go in one way in my camera. Is this side A and side B feature menu driven or a physical feature on the stick itself? Thanks guys!!!

It sounds like a physical feature... I'd think that flipping it upside down gives you access to "the other side"...

    i thought so too but...

i saw a picture of the stick and it looks no different than my current 4MB starter stick that only goes in ONE way in my camera!! HOWEVER, NONE OF THE PHOTO'S ON THE WEB SHOW THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE STICK OR THE SPINE OF IT (WHERE THE LOCK SWITCH IS). Thanks for the post!!

Actually I think they have a little switch on them that lets you access different sections.

I think I remember seeing that this summer at CC

There are 3 types of 256mb memory sticks:
    1)Memory Stick Select 128mbX2
    2)standard Memory Stick
    3)Memory Stick Pro

The one you're talking about has a tiny switch on it that changes between 128 modules. I have one and it's no different than the standard besides the switch. The Pro is noticeably faster than the others.

If you're looking to find a good deal on MS media, PM me and I'll give you some links to some good deals.

I'm pretty sure they made these because some older digicams can only accept a max size of 128mb sticks.
