That's fine, I didn't seem to be getting anywhere with it. It was just the only way I have been able to get in contact with the guy. But now, it seems he doesn't want to contact me at all, which is upsetting. I've contacted Paypal through their website and sent a "fraud investigation" form to them. I don't know what else to do, I've only got this guy's email and I have no other way of contacting him.

Well, if it is the only way to get ahold of him, i will reopen the thread.

A thread of mine was deleted, I can't find it anywhere in the Classified Buy/Sell Forum. I really need that thread as it's my only legal evidence of my dealings with msrp2003. I don't care if it's locked, but I have to have something to show that I dealt with msrp2003. Please un-delete that thread or at least email me a copy.

I hope it was deleted by accident. This is important to me. Thanks.

I dont think you can undelete a thread...

But if they moved it to a Mods trashbin then they can move it back.. Assuming they do that

I don't really now if it was deleted, KegCanMan said he locked it, but when I went to look for it it wasn't there. I sent him a PM yesterday and haven't heard anything back, so I made this thread.

not sure about vbulletin, but with other bb you can't 'undelete' a thread. HOWEVER, i am sure that sharkyforums, makes backups of their forums. i dont know if they replace each backup or keep a series of old backups. maybe they can go through a backup and get the thread. i dont know what the deal was with msrp and you, however, this is a good example of why to get people's important info at the beginning of a deal of any sort.

Yeah, well lesson learned. But I'd still like to deal with this. Right now it seems like all of Sharky is working against me. There should have been no reason to delete that thread, lock... maybe, but not delete. It's really frustrating trying to take care of this when I can't show people the thread. I mean what's the deal? This is really starting to piss me off.

Dealing with MSPR was bad enough, but now I have to deal with this crap.

Any MOD please respond!

It tells who and when someone tries to PM me and it's full. And I've been cleaning it out regularly. I think it had to do with my Sent Box having a lot of stuff in it, I was just cleaning out my Inbox stuff thinking that would be enough.

edit: as for the thread issue, I was scammed on this forum and now it seems I'm receiving no help from the moderators. What gives? I thought Sharky was better than this!

It's a computing discussion forum, not legal aid. They make it clear in their description for the forum that you're on your own as far as problems with sellers go... and they've always made it clear that the forum is not a place to conduct tribunals of alleged scammers on behalf of those who say they are their victims. So while I'm sure it's frustrating getting ripped off and having to scramble to try to find some means of recourse, I think your anger is misdirected here in trying to lay any blame on the moderators or the site.

Beyond that... if some editable posts in an online forum are the only documentation you have of your transaction with this person, quite frankly, then you're in trouble as far as legal recourse goes. Did you make payment in some manner that leaves a trail that makes it apparent who paid how much to whom and for what? If not, then perhaps it's a hard lesson learned (though I sincerely hope it wasn't an expensive one).

I'm trying to find out what happened to a thread of mine, first I'm told by a moderator that it was getting locked, fine with me, I wasn't getting anywhere with it. But suddenly I find that it's no longer on SF. I've sent two PM's to KegCanMan with no reply. My problem IS with the moderators. They have added more stress to this situation than needed to be. I'm trying to show proof to Trollhunters, but without the thread I don't have much more than a couple mails and my paypal transaction (which I'm also looking into). The fact that my thread may have been deleted angers me. If it was an accident than I want an apology. If there was a reason than I feel I should know why, though can't imagine what it was, and if possible receive a copy of it.

It's not the money that matters to me, it's the principle!

It's crap like this that makes me seriously think about leaving SF for good. It seems to me the Mods are working against me, instead of with me. I'm not a very paranoid guy, but this starting to boarder on conspiracy.
