Picked up my new 2500+ barton!
Was going to order it from excaliberpc or newegg but...i called a local joint here in town(slc,Ut)and they had a retail one for $111.00
so i said wth..its my day off and im the "gotta have it now" mood.
Got it home and opened her up, heres her stepping: AQXEA 0330XPMW
9788147240644.
Ill be honest i dont know diddly whether its a good one or not.
I pulled my 2400+ out and put my nice shiny new baby in her place and fired her up...damn board didnt recognize her..(a7n8x)running old bios 1001.G(i hate flashing, frightens me to the core..)so i flash the bios to the new 1006 asus and she fires up as a 2500+.
now my palms are sweating...i reboot with her fsb at 200 and she boots right up as a 3200+(2.21ghz)with RETAIL STOCK heatsink/fan and boots into windows without a hitch!
I run 3dmark2001se without a crash, score was 15936.
Ive only had her up for less than an hour without any problems(crossing fingers)
Anyhoo i think im happy with it at 3200+ for now, im in a small place and hate the sound of a fan running at 6000+rpm so close to my face, going to throw my 2400+ in my 2nd comp now, laterz.

You got a good stepping...time to get a better HSF and overclock...
May I ask what you'll be doing with the 2400+?

im trying to put the 2400+ in my older rig but its not taking at all...flashed the bios on my shuttle kt266a ak31 v3.1 mobo and the f'er refuses to boot up under ANY setting, i even tried setting it to an 1800+ and i will not post..
i looked up the cpu support sheet on this pos board and it states support only up to 2100+ so i set it to run as a 2100+ and it wont post.
any ideas?

Did you reset the BIOS using the onboard jumper thing?

hehe, i no want to sell if i can use it bro.)
stepping is: axda2400kv3c 9302936270744
aiugb 0245vpaw.
the aiugb may be aiug8 cant tell, my eyes are gettin old.)
yes i reset the cmos many times via the jumper on the board, i even took the bloody battery out once and reset it, it always requires me to switch cpu's for it to boot again, then ill switch back to the 2400 and it comes up as an unidentified cpu@2000,i then go into the bios and try fsb133 and defaults among other settings and i get nothing upon reboot, monitor goes into off mode and everything.
what ya think?
