The Medieval Mod
Where to start to OC, too many options!
I've done OC with my Asus TUSL2-C and my p3 750 with kingston pc 133 (actually 100 becuase the p3 is 100fsb) and never got it past 870Mhz. I don't care to OC more that pc but I am interested in my new one.
Epox 8RDA3+ rev 2.0
Kingston HyperX 2700 (512x2)
Athlon XP 2500+
AXDA2500DKV4D Y864717200175 AQXEA0330VPMV
SLK-800A with a smart fan 2
The bios has a lot of options. The Asus mobo was simple to use, just selecting the fsb and the voltage and your ready to go. With the Epox I only know about the FSB and voltage (haven't changed that yet) and many other options. I know the 8RDA3+ is not the greatest board for OC. But OC is not my first priority, if I can do it good, if not what a shame.
My goal is to run the 2500+ (1.83Gh) at 3200+ (2.2Gh) speeds and the memory at 200mhz. Again if its not possible, its not the end of the world for me
I'm open to all suggestions

Put your ram at 2.5/3/3/8, put your VDimm at 2.8 or 2.9v, put your VCore at 1.750, put your fsb to 200, put your CPU mult to 11. You'll probably need to take your ram out of Dual Channel to do this, as its only PC2700.
That should do it. Good luck.

What is the purpose of taking the RAM out of dual channel. Do you mean actually moving it from the slot its in or taking it out of Sync ?

Moving it to a slot where it will no longer be in dual channel. Having ram in Dual Channel mode can hinder its overclockability substantially.

Yeah, but this gets a little tricky. FSB may or may not go up in single channel - it probably will, but by how much?? Mine went up barely by 5. Plus, the memory advantages of Dual Channel, overrated as they are, will be lost.
With something like this I think you've gotta experiment.....

Its extremely likely that the cpu itself is more than capable of running 200x11 for 3200+ speeds with little or no extra voltage. What will be your limiter is that ram. Hyper-X usually OC's pretty and you should have no reservations running a vdimm of 2.9v. Also the limiting factor of DC usually does turn out to be less than 5FSB

I apologize for the delay, but my new computer is at my house that doesn't have internet access. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Before trying KaoTik method, I put my fsb to 200 and multiplier to 11, and 100% the ram, everything else was default/auto. The system wouldn't even boot. After pumpin the VDimm, Vcore the system did boot, I was even able to play 20minutes UT2k3. Later I tested 3dmark 2001 and the screen frooze at the beginging of the tests. I restarted my system normally with no beeping codes (OC warnings from the mobo).
Later I tried playing MOHAA, and the computer would restart.
The only thing I didn't try was disable dual channel.
What is better, have a faster system (with OC) or dual channel?

Now I tried removing dual channel. 2.5/3/3/8 ram, 2.8 & 2.9 VDimm abd Vcore 1.75, fsb to 200 and mult 11. Windows (and games if I manage to open them) reboots automatically.
Looks like no OC for me =\

oops, how could I forget that important stuff
The computer is stable if I only OC the cpu to 200fsb
the cpu is around 46C when OC to 3200+ (after many hours of looping with 3dmark01), the smart fan2 is running at 3,500rpms and case is around 32-35C

You'd have to see, depending how much of a better O/C you get with single vs. dual.
BTW, 46C o/c'd is borderline, esp. idle. I notice my SF2 doesn't really get going until I hit 4K rpm.....
