    just curious, esp since there ain't no advertising on google

    They do have ads silly.

    There's a link to it right on the main page, one on business solutions too.

    You know, where you can put a google box on your site saying "SEARCH MY SITE".

    all those colored links too, on the side and on the top are paid ads. they charge by the amount of times someone clicks on it. so if you want to make a companies bill large, just click on their advertised link a bunch of times.

    I never noticed the ads on google either. I really haven't payed attention though.

    I believe they make other deals such as selling the rights to use their engine to other companies. Also, don't forget they save a record of every search string and click done on there site. Last I heard they've done nothing with the data but are simply mining it, however they might start selling that info for various statistics. If you're the paranoid type you don't really have to worry about it b/c they probably don't know anything more then your IP address and even they they'll probably never use any identifiable information in any statistics that they would sell b/c doing that would basically shoot themselves in the foot b/c so many people would stop using their site because of it

    Google is also asking money to get a better place in the searchengine. I don't do this.
