Pentium 4 2.4ghz DDR system, memory?
I have a Dell Dimension something or other, not sure model off hand, but I do know it's a Pentium 4 2.4ghz system, with I believe the 533mhz bus, and I do know it's running 512MB DDR-SDRAM now. Do I want to buy PC3200, and is there still only one pin setup for this memory? The old SDRAM with 168pin I think it was, was pretty easy to deal with. There was 66mhz and 100mhz for a while, when I was building/selling systems, not a whole lot to remember there. And since I don't build systems anymore, etc, I just don't know without having to go out in search of the right answer.
Anyway.. if anyone could help a lazy sap out with a simple answer I'd appreciate it.. thanks. =)

You first need to check if the motherboad can support PC3200. That the comp is working on a 533 Mhz bus, doesnt guarantee anything.
However, you can buy it.. no technical barriers.. but it will run at the max memory speed you mobo can support (PC2700 perhaps).. so, you wouldnt be getting much gain with it.

Okay cool..to use something I'm more familiar with, I don't mind using 100mhz memory on a P2 300, but I didnt want to get 66mhz memory for a P2 350 (66mhz bus vs 100mhz bus). If it costs 5% more for memory faster than my computer will utilize, that's no biggie - as long as it works. =) Thanks.
